Baker enjoys visit to Montlake

As one of the top prospects on the West Coast, Bellevue (Wa.) S Budda Baker attracts a lot of attention when he makes it out to a practice. This past Saturday, Baker and several other top in-state prospects made their way to Washington's practice and he said he was impressed with what he saw and came away amazed with what they have done with the facilities improvements...

"It was real high tempo and, honestly, it was a lot like what I'm used to in my practices (at Bellevue)," Baker told "It was fun watching them work and get ready for their season."

Baker isn't one to be too effusive with his praise, but said that his tour of the new facilities was pretty impressive.

"It's great to see the progress they've made on the project. I've seen a lot of it since the beginning, so it was nice to see it now that it's almost done," Baker said. "I mean, the facilities don't matter to me that much as other stuff, with any school. It's a plus if they have great facilities and Washington's are going to be amazing for the players and the staff there, but more than anything it's about the school and the football program as a whole. Facilities are great, but it's only a plus to what really matters."

Baker recently hauled in an offer from Texas A&M and the Aggies have gotten into the mix and will likely get one of his official visits.

"I wanted to take all of my visits after the season, but now that A&M has offered, I want to get down there for their game against Alabama," Baker noted. "The rest I'll take after the season."

The rest includes Washington, Oregon and UCLA, his top three for some time and he said he's leaving one open for a school that he decides on later in the process.

Baker and his teammates have been doing offseason work getting ready for the 2013 campaign and begin full team work on August 21st as they prepare to face off against rival Skyline (Sammamish, Wa.) on September 7th in the Emerald City Kickoff Classic that will be held at Husky Stadium.
