Trip Report - Claude Pelon

Even though the outcome on the field wasn't what Washington fans, coaches and players had hoped, that didn't dampen the spirits of Mesa DL Claude Pelon who said his trip to Seattle definitely has the Huskies out in front in his recruitment...

"It was a great time for me even though they didn't win the game," Pelon told "I had a great time with my hosts (Shaquille Thompson and Travell Dixon) and the atmosphere at the game was amazing. They have a great fanbase and I loved the stadium and their facilities and they played hard the whole time."

Pelon said his sit down with Steve Sarkisian and his talks with Tosh Lupoi also strengthened their standing with him.

"They said they didn't just want me, but how they needed me to come in and help stop teams just like Oregon," Pelon said. "I have a good relationship with (Lupoi) and I like the way they use their defensive linemen. There is a chance to play there and to make a difference and that was really big for me."

Pelon has a trip scheduled for Nebraska and has been talking about taking a trip to Miami as well, but he's unsure if either of those will happen.

"I'd still like to take some visits, but I might be cancelling those other ones," Pelon said. "I don't really know right now since I haven't even gotten home and had a chance to sorta let it all sink in.

"Washington is definitely my leader right now, but I'm still evaluating things and feel like I need to at least take another couple of visits before I decide."

Pelon is on pace to graduate in December and he will have two years to play two following the 2013 football season.
