Sosebee Says He's A Dawg

There were lots of rumors Sunday that Edison (Huntington Beach, Ca.) OT Jesse Sosebee had committed to Washington, but he said that he wanted to think things over, talk to his parents and meet with the Husky coaches again on Tuesday before he made anything public. Well, that all happened Tuesday evening when he decided to announce he will play his college ball for the Dawgs...

"I actually committed to (Washington) on Sunday, but I wanted to wait and just make sure everything was right and in order," Sosebee told shortly after meeting with Husky head coach Chris Petersen. "Boise State is a great program and they will do well over there, but I had to do what was best for me and that's playing for Washington and being a Husky."

Sosebee said there were a number of reasons why he wanted to be a Husky, but he said one conversation he had while on campus for his official visit this past weekend was what sealed the deal.

"The strength and conditioning coach up there (Tim Socha), he played offensive line and he said he's been with coach Petersen since the beginning," Sosebee said. "Then he said 'you have two options, you can either get on the train and go for the ride or you can watch it leave'. I didn't want to watch it leave. I wanted to ride that train and be part of what they have going on up there."

While he's rated by as an offensive tackle, Sosebee said that offensive line coach Chris Strausser and Petersen both see him moving inside.

"They like me as more of an inside guy. You know, that guy who is a mauler. I like to play that way, so it fits me perfectly," Sosebee added.
