Budda Puts UW Fans At Peace

Christmas came early for Oregon fans, then Halloween descended just weeks later. On December 20th, Bellevue, Wash. athlete Budda Baker verbally committed to the Ducks, only to de-commit January 17th - the same day he took an official visit to Washington. And on February 4th, Baker finalized his college recruitment by committing to the Huskies on KING-5 TV.

"I just want to thank God for the opportunities, and I'll be going to the University of Washington," Baker said, finalizing his college plans on Seattle television. The four-star commit, rated the No. 5 safety in America by Scout.com, picked the Huskies over strong interest from UCLA.

"For me, I'm just a big family person," Baker said. "Family always comes first. I know with decisions they say it's about yourself, but I'm a different type of person. I'll be close to my family and they'll come and see me play. It's a true blessing."

We'll have more from Budda later tonight when we talk to him more about his decision.
