Throckmorton Impressed After Meeting UW Staff

As one of the top offensive line prospects in the Pacific Northwest in the 2015 class, Newport (Bellevue, Wa.) OL Calvin Throckmorton has seen his stock rise with schools. He recently took in Washington's Junior Day and he told that he has received his fourth offer...

"I had a really good time (at Washington)," Throckmorton told "It was really good to finally meet with the coaches and also get to know them a little bit better.

"I went to a few games last year and I have already seen the facilities, so this was more about getting to meet the coaches face-to-face and for them to get to know me."

In addition to meeting with the staff, Throckmorton also got to hang out with other area recruits.

"Cameron Saffle and Trey Adams were there and I know both of them pretty well so we just got to hang out," Throckmorton said.

On the recruiting front, heading into the day, Throckmorton had offers from the Huskies, who re-affirmed his offer that the old staff had extended, Oregon and Arizona State and on Monday he received his fourth offer.

"Washington State just offered me today," Throckmorton said. "Basically, Washington State and ASU have both said they were offering me, but they said they want to make it official when I visit there next month for their junior days.

"I am heading to both of their junior days next month so that should firm up those offers."

As far as camps are concerned, Throckmorton plans on attending several, but was unsure which ones he would be attending as he has yet to set up his itinerary.

Throckmorton and his basketball team just finished up their season, losing in the first round of the playoffs and he said that now that basketball is complete he will start lifting, hoping to add to his 6'6", 270-pound frame.

"I'd like to play this year at about 290 or somewhere close to that," Throckmorton said of his senior season next fall. "I will work on my technique and also my strength and my footwork."
