DawgmanTV: Men's Golf Team

UNIVERSITY PLACE - Dawgman.com made the hour trip down I-5 to Chambers Bay on Monday to watch the UW Men's Golf Team take part in Day One of the Redhawk Invitational, hosted by Seattle University. We were lucky enough to catch up with Head Coach Matt Thurmond for a few minutes, and also taped the players putting and hitting drives throughout the day.

The teams played 36 holes Monday, followed by 18 holes Tuesday. For any golf fan, the event is free and open to the public.

You can also check out the live scoring for the tournament here through Golfstat.

So far Washington is in third place, two shots behind UCLA and San Diego. Trevor Simsby is the top-placed UW individual at -2, 10 shots off the pace set by San Diego's Grant Forrest.

Below are our quick video interview with UW Head Coach Matt Thurmond, who was nice enough to stop mid-round to chat with us about his responsibilities on tournament days, especially 36-hole days - and also an 11-minute video of the Washington players in action, mostly putting and driving.
