Miller Names Top Two

Gilbert (Az.) OT Steve Miller talks about his top two schools and his timeline for making a decision...

This past weekend, Washington played host to Miller and he came away impressed with everything he saw.

"Honestly, it was just an excellent visit for me and for my mom and my brother," Miller told shortly after returning home. "The area up there is beautiful and the facilities are amazing. The staff was also really cool too.

"The visit was better than pretty much all of the visits I've taken and is equal to a couple of them. No one was better than Washington though."

The other schools that Miller has visited are Arizona State, BYU, San Diego State, Utah and Arizona.

After taking the trip, he told he's narrowed things down to a top two and plans to make his decision on or before July 4th.

"Washington and ASU are my top two," Miller noted. "I'm planning to commit sometime around July 4th, so it's coming up quickly for me.

"I'm graduating early and that's why I want to have my decision out of the way, so I can play my season and then head out to the school I'm going to play for right after the holiday break."

So, with that timeline looming, Miller broke down what it was about his two favorites that put them in that category...

Washinton - "With Washington, I really like the coaches up there a lot. The tradition they have there is great and I really like where they are headed. Coach (Chris) Petersen laid out what they were trying to do there, their goals and what he wants from his players and that really fit what I am looking for from the coach that I want to play for."

Arizona State - "I like the coaches at ASU too. They are great guys and I feel really comfortable with them. They are close to home and that's always nice. I didn't think it would be that big of a deal, but it's definitely a plus for them. Like Washington, I really like the direction they have the program heading in and think the future is really bright for them."

Miller said he plans to make his decision public on Twitter after he calls the coaches to inform them of his decision.
