Visit To UW Changes Ieremia's Perspective

Hurricane (Ut.) LB Jeremiah Ieremia has plenty of schools to choose from and one that he's been very interested in over the past couple of months has been Washington. Over the weekend, the talented linebacker prospect took a trip to Seattle and was on campus for Washington's full-pads workout yesterday. After spending two days on campus, he told he's got a new leader...

"That whole visit, from the time I was there until I left, was amazing," Ieremia said shortly after returning home. "It pretty much changed my whole perspective on Washington. They're now my leader. No question about it."

Ieremia took in Saturday's workout and he also spent time meeting with the coaches and he got a tour of the facilities.

"Coach (Bob) Gregory is my lead recruiter and I like him a lot," Ieremia said. "Coach (Chris) Peterson is cool too. I really liked all of the coaches and I liked the tempo of their practice.

"They work their guys really hard and I liked the way they taught and all of that.

"With (John) Timu leaving after this season, they have a bunch of sophomores who are there to take his spot, but none of them have played yet, so I will have a chance to come in and play right away or at least I will have a chance to come in and play right away if I win the spot."

While on campus, Ieremia noted that he thought about committing, but decided to wait and let the process run its course.

"It was definitely going through my mind," Ieremia said with a chuckle. "My uncle came up there with me and he didn't want to leave. He loved it there and so did I."

In addition to his offer from the Dawgs, Ieremia has full rides from the likes of Hawaii, Oregon State, BYU, Boise State and Utah State and he's been getting heavy interest from USC as well.

"I think I'm going to name my leaders, probably a top three, at the end of my season and then I will take visits to those three schools and make my decision," Ieremia noted. "I will probably take one (official visit) during the season and the other two after the season and then I will decide."

Worth noting is that Ieremia is LDS and he has yet to decide if he will take his mission or not.

Ieremia and his teammates will begin their season on August 22nd with a game against Skyline (Salt Lake City, Ut.).
