Huskies Add Nor Cal Linebacker

Sacred Heart (Atherton, Ca.) LB Ben Burr-Kirven decides to commit to the Huskies..

"I just committed to them a little while ago," Burr-Kiven told "Coach (Bob) Gregory is the main coach recruiting me for them.

"The big reason I chose them is because they made me feel like they really wanted me up there. I didn't feel like they were blowing smoke and that they meant it and that made me just want to be part of what they are building there."

Burr-Kiven chose the Huskies over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Fresno State, San Diego State, Utah, Harvard, Yale and Eastern Washington.

"I visited up there in June and had a great time up there," Burr-Kiven noted. "It's just a great fit for me. I'm really excited."

As a junior last fall, Burr-Kiven posted an amazing 204 tackles (136 solo), seven tackle-for-loss, six sacks and four interceptions.

So far this season, the 6'0, 200-pounder, has yet to play a game due to an Achilles injury, but he said he hopes to return in time for his team's game against Woodside (Ca.) on October 4th.
