McCoy Planning Visit To Washington

Roosevelt (Fresno, Ca.) ATH Ricky McCoy, who is currently committed to Arizona, tells that he is planning a visit to the University of Washington and that the Huskies have made a lasting impression on him...

"Washington has been on me for a while and they really like me a lot," McCoy told recently. "I like them a lot. Coach (Jordan) Pao Pao has been recruiting me for a while and I feel like I have a good relationship with him.

"They like me a lot on the defensive line and that's something I really enjoy playing, so they've definitely made a good impression on me.

"I was planning on visiting them on October 3rd because that's our bye week, but I guess that's their bye week too, so I'm going to take my visit to see them later on. It might be for their game against UCLA, but right now I'm not really sure. I do know I will be taking that visit though."

McCoy committed to Arizona back in March and said that plenty of schools have been contacting him, but that Washington has stuck out the most.

"They have been really consistent with their contact with me," McCoy said. "They like my attitude and the way I go about doing things on the football field. They also feel like I am a great fit for them and their program and where they are headed.

"Arizona likes me as a tight end, but I saw that they got another tight end committed to them (Brion Anduze) and that has made me not as high on them because they said they wouldn't be taking another tight end.

"I'm still committed to them, but I am definitely not as high on them as I was before.

"When I told them I wanted to visit Washington, they were not happy with me, so it's sorta been a touchy situation with them."

McCoy had missed the first three games of Roosevelt's season with a lower-back strain, but came on like gangbusters this past weekend with 20 tackles (11 solo) and two sacks in the first half of his team's 51-0 win over Yosemite (Oakhurst, Ca.).

We will have more on McCoy in the near future and will let you know when he firms up his visit date to Montlake.
