2016 RB Target Hopes To Visit UW This Fall

While the Huskies are just in the middle of the 2015 recruiting class cycle, make no mistake, they definitely haven't been ignoring future classes. The Dawgs have made offers to several talented juniors and one they seem to have made a priority is Paraclete (Lancaster, Ca.) ATH Melquise Stovall...

"I talk to coach 'B' (Keith Bhonapha) every week. I've formed a really good relationship with him," Stovall told Dawgman.com. "It's been great getting to know him and see what they are doing up there (at Washington). It seems like the program is headed in the right direction and they have great academics there, so they are definitely a school I am very interested in."

Stovall said he's so interested that he's hoping to take a visit to Seattle to take in a game this season.

"I've been planning on it, but I just haven't figured out when it's going to happen yet," Stovall said. "The coaches want to get me up there so I can check out the school and the facilities and I want to check out their stadium and the atmosphere there during a game.

"It'll go a long way in helping me make a decision."

In addition to his offer from the Huskies, Stovall has hauled in offers from Boise State and San Diego State and he's been getting interest from several other schools.

"I've been hearing a lot from UCLA, Arizona State, California, Washington State and Oregon and I've been talking to a few other schools too," Stovall noted. "I'm not anywhere close to making my decision. I want to go all the way through the process and I will make my decision on Signing Day (in February of 2016) so I have a while, but Washington is one school that believed in me early on and they are a school that I like a lot."

Stovall, who rushed for 2,162 yards and 34 touchdowns as a sophomore last season, is off to a great start this season, rushing for 450 yards and five touchdowns in his team's first four games.

The talented athlete said every school recruiting him, including Washington, likes him as a tailback and slot receiver and that he is happy to play either spot once he gets to college.
