Trip Report - Cameron Scarlett

Central Catholic (Portland, Or.) RB Cameron Scarlett told Dawgman.com that his official visit to Washington last weekend exceeded his already very high expectations...

"It was my first official visit, so I really didn't have anything to compare it to, but I had some high expectations and it totally exceeded what I had expected," Scarlett told Dawgman.com. "It was a great time being up there and spending time with the coaches and the players was great.

"Honestly, that was my favorite part, spending time with the players. I can go see the school anytime I want, but what I really wanted to get a feel for was the players and who my teammates would be.

"That's really the goal for all of my official visits. How I fit in with the players and also the feel I get when I am there."

Scarlett's host on his trip was redshirt freshman RB Lavon Coleman, but he spent a lot of time with his fellow official visitors -- D.J. Beavers and Quinten Pounds.

"The three of us did a lot stuff together. We had a great time," Scarlett said. "We spent time with a lot of the players and just had a lot of fun together. Like I said, it was a great visit."

Scarlett is taking a methodical approach to his recruitment and he plans to visit Stanford (11/15), Oregon (11/22), Notre Dame (10/11) and UCLA (10/4) before he makes his decision.

"After my last visit, I will sit down and start to narrow things down a little more and then figure out where I'm headed," Scarlett said. "I'll probably make my decision around Christmas and then I'll be done with it."

In three games so far this season, Scarlett has carried the ball 34 times for 210 yards and two touchdowns while leading his team to a 2-1 record.
