Reports: Peters Dismissed

Multiple reports have confirmed that Washington junior corner Marcus Peters has been dismissed from the football program...

Sportsradio 950 KJR's Dave "Softy" Mahler was the first to report that the junior corner had been suspended.

Peters had been disciplined earlier in the season for some conflicts on the sidelines with coaches and teammates during Washington's game with Eastern Washington earlier this season.

The projected first rounder was suspended for Washington's game the following week vs. Illinois.

Now, it appears that Peters has been dismissed from the program altogether.

Peters wound up leading the Huskies with three interceptions so far this season while also totaling 30 tackles and 10 pass breakups.

In his two and a half seasons as a starter, Peters finished with 129 tackles, 35 pass breakups, 11 interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

In Peters' place, Washington will likely turn to a combination of freshmen Naijiel Hale and Darren Gardenhire and senior Travell Dixon.

The Huskies currently start two other two freshmen in the secondary -- S Budda Baker and CB Sidney Jones.

Washington (6-3) plays host to UCLA this weekend at Husky Stadium.
