Trip Report - Jaylinn Hawkins

This weekend, one of the two official visitors on campus was Buena Park (Ca.) WR Jaylinn Hawkins. Even though the Huskies lost to UCLA, Hawkins said he was impressed with what he saw and seems to be favoring the Dawgs after his trip to the Emerald City...

"I loved everything about it," Hawkins told Dawgman.com. "The game atmosphere was crazy, the city, the school...I liked it all."

Hawkins' host on his trip was Dante Pettis.

"My boy Dante Pettis was my host and we talked a lot about the school and the coaches and the program," Hawkins said. "He did a good job of showing me around and what it would be like to be a player there."

A big concern for the Huskies when they are recruiting a player is whether or not their parents can join them.

"(My parents) really had a great time," Hawkins said. "They really like what Washington has to offer."

Hawkins visited Utah back in September and has trips to Oregon (12/13) and Arizona State (1/17) on the horizon before he makes his decision.

Hawkins and his teammates will face off against Husky commit Quinten Pounds and the Cypress Centurions this Friday in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Playoffs.

Dawgman.com will continue to keep track of Hawkins' progress as he gets closer to making a decision and we will update news on him as it happens.
