Turner Joins The Husky Family

Washington got good news when L.A. Pierce S Ezekiel Turner decided to commit to them Sunday evening...

"I called coach (Jimmy) Lake and coach (Chris) Petersen tonight and they were both really happy," Turner told Dawgman.com shortly after announcing his decision via twitter. "Coach Lake already sorta had the heads up, but I asked him to keep it quiet for a couple of days so I could go through things."

Turner said his visit to Seattle last weekend and the in-home visit from Lake with his parents sealed the deal for the Huskies.

"From the way they go about things, to the direction of the program, to the type of football they play and all of the facilities they have and my relationship with the coaches, it was all just the perfect fit for me," Turner said. "I just couldn't see myself anywhere else.

"I was pretty much on the same page with my parents, but after coach Lake's visit to meet with my parents, we were all in 100-percent agreement.

"I called them and we talked about it and they said it should be Washington before I even got it out. I knew that's where I wanted to go and I knew we were all pretty much on the same page with that, but once they said it, it was real and I knew it was the right place. That just confirmed I was making the right decision."

The safety prospect said the chance to play early for the Huskies had a huge appeal and he'll be in Seattle in January to start his Husky career.

"I'm just excited to be part of what they are building there," Turner said. "I am looking forward to being part of the Husky family. I can't wait to get up there."

Turner finished the 2014 football season with 35 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and one interception.

Once he arrives at Washington, Turner, who was a full-qualifier out of high school, will have four years to play three starting in 2015.
