Is UW Still A Consideration For Hawkins?

As one of the top receivers left on the West Coast, Buena Park (Ca.) WR Jaylinn Hawkins is definitely a very popular prospect with college coaches. Dawgman.com spoke to the talented wideout over the weekend and he updated us on where things stand, his timeline for a decision and if the Huskies are still a consideration...

"(Recruiting) has been going pretty well," Hawkins told Dawgman.com. "I still have two visits left and then I will sit down and make my decision on Signing Day."

Hawkins has already visited Washington, Utah and Arizona State and he'll take visits to Oregon (this weekend) and to California the weekend of January 23rd through the 25th.

"I'm heading up to Oregon this weekend and Cal on the 23rd," Hawkins said. "I'm excited to see what both of those programs have to offer.

"I'll sit down with my family and my coaches after that and make my decision and then I will announce on Signing Day."

With his visit to Seattle so far in the rear view mirror, he visited the first full weekend of November, are the Huskies truly a consideration for the talented receiver?

"I talked to coach (Brent) Pease recently and we talked about things and he said they still like me and want me to come in and be part of their program," Hawkins said. "I liked my visit there a lot. It was a really good time and the coaches there are all great.

"I just need to make sure I find the right place for me. I'd say they are right in it, but I still have to take my last two visits before I can be sure on where I want to go."

Hawkins said he will have an in-home with the Huskies soon and hopes to play host to Chris Petersen before the end of the month.

As a senior, Hawkins ran roughshod through opposing secondaries hauling in 80 receptions for 1,476 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Dawgman.com will continue to keep track of Hawkins as he gets closer to making his decision and we will update news on him as it happens.
