Explosive 2016 Target Talks Recruiting, UW

Summit (Fontana, Ca.) WR Damian Alloway can do it all on the football field. He made plays as a receiver, as a running back, as a 'Wildcat' QB and as a defensive back while helping lead his team to a 6-4 record this past fall. As the 2016 recruiting cycle begins to kick in full force, the multi-purpose athlete has plenty of options and he updated Dawgman.com on where things currently stand...

"I had a good (junior) year. I just tried to make plays for my team," Alloway told Dawgman.com recently. "If that meant I had to be a receiver, then I did that. If that mean I needed to be a tailback or a 'Wildcat' quarterback, I did it.

"I just like having my hands on the ball and I love to play and get out and compete."

As a junior this past season, Alloway was a "jack of all trades", hauling in 32 receptions for 635 yards and 10 touchdowns, carrying the ball 54 times for 642 yards and eight scores and returning kicks, taking four back for touchdowns.

Defensively, he posted 33 tackles, three interceptions and four pass breakups from his cornerback and free safety spots.

On the recruiting front, several teams have already made offers to the explosive playmaker and he said several more could be on the way soon.

"My offers right now are from Washington, Utah, Cal, UCLA, Washington State and Duke and I have been talking a lot with Oregon, USC and Notre Dame and honestly the most of the rest of the Pac 12 is starting to come on strong now," Alloway noted.

Alloway is one of the fastest recruits on the West Coast this season. He ran a PR of 10.6 in the 100 meters last spring as a sophomore and during the summer he posted a 4.4 in the 40.

Concerning his interest in Washington, Alloway is being recruited by Husky running backs coach Keith Bhonapha and he spent time at UW's camp at Redlands University last summer.

"It was really cool getting to meet the coaches and talking to them," Alloway said. "Coach B (Bhonapha) and I talked and they were like 'wherever you want to work out, just get in there and compete', so I got some reps at receiver and running back and with the defensive backs too.

"I also got to meet coach (Chris) Petersen and talk to him for a while. They all seemed like really great coaches and I enjoyed my time at their camp."

Alloway is scheduled to head up to USC the final weekend of the month to meet with the Trojan coaches.

"As far as unofficial visits, other than my trip up to SC, I am not sure which other schools I will visit," Alloway said. "I've been talking with my parents about different schools I want to see and Washington is definitely one I am interested in looking at, but I am not really sure yet where I will go on my unofficial visits this spring."

Dawgman.com will continue to keep tabs on Alloway over the next few months and we will update news on him as it happens.
