Stock Report: UW Recruiting 1/26

With only 10 days remaining before Signing Day here is our second installment of The Stock Report. Here's a look at some of the top remaining targets on Washington's board and where things stand with them...

Recruiting Stock Report:

Last week, we said it could wind up being pretty tough to pull Warren out of the Lone Star State, but things seem to have changed over the past 48 hours. One thing helping the Huskies' case is the status of Sotonye Jamabo and also Nicholas Brossette. Both seem to be heavy Texas leans after the weekend and many think that could leave Warren on the outside looking in. Something else playing into Washington's favor is Warren's impending visit this weekend. If that visit happens and Warren sticks to his plan to make his decision public on Signing Day, it could wind up a very nice happy day for Husky fans. We'll just have to see how things play out over the next 10 days.

Recruiting Stock Report:

Still a really tough read with Hawkins. He’s not talking a lot, but it still sounds like Arizona State is going to be the team to beat in this one. However, one thing we do know is that the Huskies have been in touch with him and are still doing their best to get him into the boat.

Recruiting Stock Report:

Miller is another tough read. According to some folks, he’s still planning to visit Illinois this coming weekend, but according to others, he’s not and he’ll visit another school. Could UW be that “other school”? We’ll know more soon enough. Word is his visit to Cal went really well this past weekend, but so far it looks like he’s gone underground for the time being.

Recruiting Stock Report:

We're still waiting to find out how Tafua's visit went to BYU this weekend. Word last weekend was that Tafua was very close to committing to Washington after returning home from his visit, but a visit to Provo this weekend may have changed things. Even if he were to commit to the Huskies, Tafua plans to take his LDS mission shortly after graduating this summer and he will not enroll at whichever school he signs with until 2017. No one has talked to Tafua yet about where his head is, but this one still looks like it could wind up in Washington's favor, especially if the Husky coaches' in-home this week solidifies things.

Recruiting Stock Report:

In a bit of a surprise, Castille committed to SMU while on his official visit this past weekend. Reports are that Castille will not make his planned trip to Seattle this coming weekend, but there are still four days before that is confirmed. Washington head coach Chris Petersen and receivers coach Brent Pease made an in-home visit last week and it can be assumed that another may happen this week. The chances of him visiting appear to be slim, but don't completely rule it out.

Recruiting Stock Report:

Murphy is a local receiver many think the Huskies could still get in on, but as of today, it sounds like the Dawgs have moved on. Last weekend, after visiting Utah, the school he'd been committed to for the better part of a year, Murphy de-committed. However, Washington was not one of the schools that dropped by Evergreen High School last week. Could that change this week? We'll have to see, but as of now, he doesn't seem to be a realistic addition to the 2015 class.
