"Washington offered me a week or so ago," Felton told Dawgman.com recently. "I talk to coach Keith (Bhonapha) and I've also talked to coach (Chris) Petersen a couple times.
"They are good coaches and I have really enjoyed getting to know them better. They definitely make you feel like family when you talk to them. I'm forming a really good relationship with them. It's only getting better."
The Huskies, along with Arizona State, Michigan, California, Utah and Washington State have all made early offers to the talented prospect and he's seen quite a bit of interest from schools like USC, UCLA, Oregon State, Arizona and Nebraska among others.
As a junior last season, Felton carried the ball 161 times for 1,277 yards and 15 touchdowns as a tailback while also hauling in 26 receptions for 560 yards and seven more scores and he contributed 28 tackles and two interceptions as a defensive back.
"Most schools are looking at me at running back or slot receiver," Felton noted. "I am pretty sure (Washington) likes me as a running back, but I am open to playing both.
"I prefer running back but I believe I'm also a good slot receiver as well. I really like both."
As far as his interest in Washington, Felton noted that he is very high on the Huskies and what the program and school have to offer although he's still trying to find out more specifics about things on Montlake.
"To tell the truth, I don't know a whole lot about the program, but I plan on increasing my knowledge on the football program before I visit," Felton said. "I am taking an unofficial visit up there (for UW's Junior Day) on April 18th.
"It's hard not to get excited about Washington because of the excitement of Coach Keith and Coach Petersen. Their enthusiasm excites me and makes me interested in the school."
In addition to his planned unofficial to Washington, Felton said he is planning trips to see Michigan, Arizona State and Cal as well although he hasn't set up an itinerary yet for those trips.
Felton isn't close to narrowing things down, hoping to hear from more schools, gather more information and then narrowing things down before his senior season.
He'd like to take all of his official visits after his season is completed and then hopes to make a decision next January although he's open to ending things early if he feels the time is right to make a commitment.
