DawgmanTV: Daejon Davis

Dawgman.com’s Kim Grinolds and Aaron Beach headed out this weekend to Mount Rainier High School, where they were able to catch up with some of the area’s top prep basketball talent during the Rotary NETS AAU Tournament. Beach spoke with Daejon Davis, a 6-foot-3 2017 guard from Lakeside that happens to have an offer from UW.

Here are some selected quotes from the interview:

Didn’t play this weekend - what happened? - “Just jumpers…I’ll be back next weekend.”

Tell us about Rotary this year - “I think we have a special group of guys. I think we have a very balanced team. Shooters, like specific shooters…guys who can make shots. And we have inside players that can produce. We can compete and we can make it to Peach Jam.”

Is the backcourt going to be a strength of the team? - “Yeah. For sure. I think we can work together from last summer to this summer. We have that chemistry with Jaylen (Nowell), along with Jashaun (Agosto) play with each other during the season, so…”

Tell us about your experience at state this year - “It was a good experience. We lost the first round. We had to face some adversity coming back, and we beat Kennedy and then we beat Bellevue - supposedly the number-one team in the state at some point - it was big for us.”

Can you describe your game? - “I think I can do it all. I can knock down the shot, I can handle the ball, I can off of another point guard, I can rebound.”

Almost unselfish to a fault…would you agree? - “Yeah. I would.”
