UW Offers 2016 CB Kentrell Love
"Coach (Jimmy) Lake was down at our Showcase on May 6th and he said 'sorry we took so long but we really enjoyed watching you at the showcase' and then he offered," a happy Love told Dawgman.com shortly after announcing the offer on Twitter.
Besides his offer from the Huskies, Love also boasts offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Nebraska, Oregon State and San Diego State and he's getting heavy interest from Arizona and Boise State as well.
"All of the schools are still standing out right now," Love said. "Washington is still right at the top, but no one is really sticking out because they are all showing me a lot of interest."
Love said his current plan is to hit camps at Arizona, Colorado, and Nebraska, although he still needs to firm up his itinerary for next month.
"I'm still working that out right now, but that's my plan as of today," Love said. "I've already been up to see Washington and I'm hoping to get up there again this summer, but if not then, then definitely in the fall."
At nearly 6'2", Love fits the mold of the big corners that have become a mainstay in today's secondaries.
This past season, as a junior, Love totaled 31 tackles and six pass breakups for a team that went 12-3 and lost in the CIF Open Division Championship Game.
"I played corner last year, but this year I will play safety and corner," Love told Dawgman.com back in April. "I like to hit and cover and just be a playmaker for my team, so anyway that I can help I will do it."
Love said he hopes to take all of his official visits before he commits to a school, but noted that he's open to making a decision during his season or shortly thereafter if he feels ready to make his decision.
