OL Keith Grennan Update

There's a player in the Wesco 4A South Division that's ready to make a BIG splash on football field and hopefully in recruiting circles this fall. Keith Grennan, at 6-7 and 310 pounds, should have no problem making waves at his size.

A bit of a late bloomer, Grennan hopes his play this fall will be enough to earn him a coveted scholarship offer.

"The first two years I was in high school, I wasn't really preparing myself for the idea that I could get a scholarship," Grennan told Dawgman.com.

"I played last year, and then I started getting mail and calls from coaches, and then all of a sudden it looked like maybe I could do it. I've been working really hard in the off-season to get ready for this year. Hopefully I can give every play 110 percent and get the job done."

Keith plays both ways for Edmonds-Woodway, and is enjoying the new challenge of playing some defense. "I'm playing guard on offense and tackle on defense," he said. "I think I'm better at offense because I know it better, but I'm starting to like defense now."

There are two main schools vying for Grennan's services, Washington and Oregon. On September 1st, the first day college coaches can call prospective student-athletes, Grennan heard a familiar voice on the other end of the line. "Coach Gilbertson (UW Offensive Coordinator) called me," Keith said. "He was my only call."

"He just emphasized to me to have a great season, go 100 percent on both sides and have a great year in school."

Grennan is excited about this weekend, as he'll be taking in a little football. "I'm going to the Washington-Michigan game," said Grennan. "I can't wait. I've only been to a couple of their games, just because it's so hard to get tickets."
