VIDEO: LB Azeem Victor Post-Game: Boise State

Dawgman.com spoke post-game to Washington middle linebacker Azeem Victor after the Huskies lost a heartbreaker in their season-opener, a 16-13 loss to Boise State Friday night at Albertsons Stadium in Boise, Idaho.

On Boise State’s success running early “We were used to them going inside and they started to bounce the ball outside, so once we adjusted that we were able to stop them”

On halftime adjustments “We just told our outside rushers to contain and keep them from going outside. Then we just played football.”

On the defense struggling to set the edge early “Our two pass rushers, Cory (Littleton) and Travis (Feeney), were beating tackles off the line. They were just cutting inside of outside rushers. We tightened that up second half. We told them to come inside, and stopped the run pretty good.”

On if he sensed that Boise State played more conservative in the second half “Yeah I did. Other than that, we always play with full effort.”

On Dante Pettis' punt return “It was real big. It got the whole team pumped up. After that it was game time. The game got real close and we were back in the game.”
