POST-GAME VIEDO: Washington Tight End Joshua Perkins spoke with the media after the Huskies' 30-24 loss to California

Washington Tight End Joshua Perkins spoke with the media after the Huskies' 30-24 loss to the California Golden Bears Saturday at Husky Stadium. Perkins had five catches for 55 yards on the day.

On the game plan “I thought we were going to be able to throw the ball. I thought we were going to be able to have a great offensive game against Cal. The turnovers really killed us. We didn’t have that much time of possession; we were putting the defense on the field for way to long. We just have to get better.”

On if he remembers any other game where his opponent was on the field twice as long “I can’t remember that. Like I said, we can’t putt them in those situations. They played outstanding given the circumstances, but we just can’t do that to them.”

On the difficult it was to dig a whole on the first few drives and then have to claw out of it “We were just trying to look at it drive-by-drive. The first drive didn’t go how we wanted it to, but we were just trying to go take the game as it came to us.”

On if the offense felt they found some momentum after the first touchdown drive “Yeah, I feel like we got in a rhythm on that drive. Like I said, the turnovers killed us. We can’t have that many turnovers and expect to win a game in the PAC-12.”
