TB Marcus O'Keith Update

Narbonne High School is where tailback Marcus O'Keith provides the highlights on offense. O'Keith is considered right there with the best backs in the state of California in a year when that state is rich with talent.

O'Keith has put in a lot of work to get to where he is this season. "I have been more dedicated to the weights and I've been more dedicated on and off the field. I've been taking care of my grades," said O'Keith.

At 6-0 180 pounds, O'Keith's 4.4 40 makes him one of the more sought after backs on the West Coast. He's been getting a lot of phone calls. In fact, one coach had just gotten off the phone when we called him. "UW just called, right before you called," said O'Keith.

It was Husky linebackers coach Tom Williams. "He asked me how I was doing and how my family was. We talked about my senior year ahead and what my goals were."

The UCLA Bruins phoned O'Keith right before their game with Alabama. "UCLA, Notre Dame, Arizona, California, and Washington all phoned last weekend."

O'Keith is entertaining scholarship offers from Notre Dame, UW, USC, UCLA, Cal, Wisconsin, and Nebraska.

The Fighting Irish will definitely get one of his visits as will the Huskies. O'Keith wants to see South Bend and Seattle up close and personal.

"When Neuheisel came down to my school during the recruiting period, he said he'd call and we'd set it up," said O'Keith.

Beyond those two schools, Marcus is keeping his options very open for the time being.
