LB Scott White Update

Scott White is a 6-2 225-pound linebacker/fullback from Mission Bay, California. He is considered one of the top linebacking prospects in the southern California and has the offers to prove it.

"My phone's been ringing a bit," said White.

"Oklahoma called REALLY early, they were the first to phone. Rick Neuheisel called right after that. I also heard from Penn State, Arizona, Arizona State, WSU, UCLA, Colorado, Colorado State, and San Diego State. They all called on the first day they could."

"Neuheisel talked about all of the advantages of coming up there to Washington."

Scott has scholarship offers from UW, UCLA, San Diego State, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, and LSU. Others will offer as soon as his season begins.

There are two schools that he is certain that he will visit. "I want to see the University of Washington, and I'll go visit Oklahoma, probably in November," said White.

He met current Husky tight end Joe Toledo at a summer camp. "He was nice, he was a guest speaker and talked about the recruiting process and why he chose Washington."

Now White takes aim on his senior season. "I'm ready for this season to be a big one. Last year I would've made 200 tackles if I hadn't sat out the blowouts. Most importantly I want to win the CIF again. That ranks above everything because the rest of the accolades will come. We definitely want to win the CIF."

He is going to take his time in considering all of his options for college. "I'm pretty far away from making any decisions on schools. My coaches are going to help me there. Three of our coaches played college football so they know what to look for," said White.
"I'm looking for compatibility more than anything. How well do I fit in, interact with the coaches, and can I see myself living there for 4-5 years. How will my skills help that team? Those are the things I'm looking at." Top Stories
