VIDEO: Washington MIK Azeem Victor Post-Game - Oregon Ducks

Washington middle linebacker Azeem Victor spoke to the media Saturday night after Washington's 26-20 loss to Oregon at Husky Stadium. Victor had to sit out the first half of the game due to a targeting penalty during the Huskies' 17-12 win at USC.

On sitting out the first half “It was hard. Obviously I want to play; I want to be on the field out with my team. I had to wait out until the second half.

On Vernon Adams “He’s a really good quarterback. He’s mobile, and that’s always a weapon. We had to close in the pocket and we had to tackle him and I think we did a good job of that.”

On if it was frustrating not being able to keep him in the pocket “It’s frustrating but as a defense we all do what we can do. He’s a good quarterback like I said so there’s nothing much you can do about that.”

On Royce Freeman “He’s a good running back as well. He’s athletic and he’s big and he’s fast. I think our defense did a good job of stopping him. He wasn’t as dynamic as he was tonight. Our defense did a good job.”

On how much better the defense handled Oregon than in the past “We handled pretty nice. We held them to very few points. As a defense, we gave all we got.”

On how hard it was to have to watch the first half “It was very difficult. Obviously I want to play. I want to be out there with my team. I just had to wait until the third quarter.” Top Stories
