VIDEO: Washington Defensive Coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski Post-Game Briefing - Arizona State

Washington Defensive Coordinator Pete Kwiatkowski spoke to the media post-game after the Huskies gave up 27 unanswered points and lost to the Arizona State Sun Devils 27-17 Saturday in Tempe, Ariz.

On issues in the second half “We just have to finish. Finish plays, finish drives, finish the game. It comes down to that. Missed tackles. It boiled down to that. They’re going to make plays, but if they make plays we have to tackle them. If we do that then they don’t score two touchdowns in the second half. We have to get better at finishing.”

On how to finish better “You have to keep working to get better and you have to keep plugging away. There’s no magic freaking thing that you just wave a wand. Everyone has to get better as individuals, as coaches. They have to want to come to practice to get better. That’s all you can do. Everybody should feel this way because it was right there. We have to finish.”

On if he thought at this point in the season finishing wouldn’t be an issue “Three quarters were great and the fourth quarter all of a sudden the wheels come off. We missed two tackles and it results in two touchdowns. Yeah. Not one play loses it, but guys have to make plays. One play can win it.” Top Stories
