VIDEO: Washington Receiver Jaydon Mickens Post-Game Briefing - Arizona State

Dawgman.com's Kim Grinolds spoke post-game with Washington senior receiver Jaydon Mickens, who caught five passes for 100 yards in the Huskies' 27-17 defeat at Arizona State Saturday.

On the difference in the halves “Something we couldn’t dwell on. Even the plays that we made we couldn’t dwell on those plays. It’s a new half. It’s basically a new game once you get out there the second half. We didn’t do enough to come out with a victory.”

On if he looks at the final two games as must-win games “Yeah, hands down. Must win. We know our backs are up against the wall, but we have to see who’s going to be those competitor’s and those guys that are going to fight no matter what the outcome of the game is. They’re just going to go out and give their all. I believe this team is going to go out there and do so. Win or lose we’re still a team and we’re still going to fight until the end. Two more games to get six wins. Got to win them to be bowl eligible and that’s what we’re out looking to do. We have to start out with Oregon State first.”

On how disappointing this loss was “Very disappointed. Very disappointed. We know what type of team we could be. We showed flashes of it all year. IT’s just we have to be consistent in our techniques and what we’re doing to make this play effective and to make this play ‘we know this play is going to work.’ We kind of got away from it on a couple of drives, but that’s something we have to go back to practicing and keep at it.”
