VIDEO: Washington Players Marquese Chriss and David Crisp Post-Game - Mount St. Mary's

Washington forward Marquese Chriss and guard David Crisp spoke to the media Thursday night after the Huskies rolled through the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers 100-67 at Alaska Airlines Arena.

Marquese Chriss:

On his home debut “Yeah. I didn’t really set any expectations for myself, but I started going out there and I started making a couple of shots. I was feeling it a little bit and I just kept shooting.”

On the importance of the strong start after suffering from jet lag this week “It was real big. We tried to come out strong and keep it going for the whole game. We kind of had a little down time in the first half and we came out of half time and we played good again. It was hard for us during the week because we didn’t feel like we were getting enough sleep with class. But then everybody kind of got back on their sleeping schedules. We’re fine.”

On if guys have found their roles yet “We’re always I feel like going to have to adjust to playing with each other until we’ve played for a long time. Everybody knows what players are capable of and everybody on this team is capable of a lot of things. Everybody brings stuff to the table that will help us.”

On if the fact that Mount St. Mary’s was a tournament team last year added motivation to start off strong like they did“No. We look to play well against everybody. We don’t really look at somebody as ‘they’re all this and all that.’ We just want to compete and play well.”

David Crisp:

On the guards rebounding “Coach is real big on that with us rebounding. Early in the year we had our exhibition and our scrimmage and he said ‘whoever has the most rebounds, they’re going to be able to start.’ He’s big on everybody rebounding. We crash the boards. We’re real athletic and long.”

On going against the Mount St. Mary’s guards and Junior Robinson “Just like any other game. We’re real big on defensive stuff. Everybody likes to play defense. Going against them was nothing really new. It was fun though.”

On his role “Just come in energy guy. I just try to come in, bring energy, and do anything I can do to help the team win. I can get rebounds, loose balls, score, assists. I try to do whatever to help.”

On his nice pass to Marquese Chriss “I saw him running out and I saw two dudes closing in so I just thread it in there. I already knew he was going to take the rim down.”
