VIDEO: Washington MIK Azeem Victor Post-Game - Apple Cup

Dawgman.com spoke post-game with Washington MIK Azeem Victor, who had four tackles, a fumble recovery and a 27-yard pick-six to help the Huskies obliterate No. 20 Washington State Friday in the Apple Cup, played at Husky Stadium.

On Peyton Bender “He’s a good quarterback. They got the ball. They threw it a couple times and they caught the ball a couple times. We did a good job taking the ball away.”

On this defense replacing guys it lost last year “When the next guy leaves the next guy has to step up. We never really thought about that. We just kept it to ourselves and kept it like we have something to prove and we did that.”

On getting motivated for this game “It’s always motivation and we came out here and were ready.”

On the interception for a touchdown “First of all, I was kind of excited catching the ball. I turned around and I saw it was a clear lane and I just went for it. I have to give big ups to the d-line for getting the ball out quick. It was just a blessing.”

On forcing seven turnovers “Our goal is to score and get the ball back and we did  a good job of that today.”

On how he felt the defense tackled today “We did a good job of tackling. We did a real good job of tackling. I don’t think we had a lot of broken tackles. That’s all things we work on during the week.”

On how long it took to settle in and figure out Peyton Bender “With a team that throws the ball a lot there’s a lot that comes with it and there are a lot of formations. It took us about a drive or two to get acclimated and to see what they were doing and capitalize on what they were doing.”
