Husky LB Azeem Victor talks about Washington's 44-31 win over Southern Miss in the Heart of Dallas Bowl

Dawgman.com caught up with Washington LB Azeem Victor following his team's big 44-31 win over Southern Miss in the Heart of Dallas Bowl...

On the defensive effort: "We feel like we started off slow. We picked up speed and they started getting going with a little bit of tempo and we had to adjust to that, but overall we did pretty well."

On the early chippiness in the game: "It's a competitive sport and we all want to win. You go out there, it's just intense, that's the best part about it, but you have to know how to keep it within the rules."

On the bowl game weather: "It was 70 degrees and raining, but we were practicing in it all week, so it wasn't that hard to handle for us."

On the Southern Miss offense: "They're a really good group. We had to do a good job of eliminating the tempo plays, but that was about it."

On missing Kevin King: "We missed him a lot. He's a big role player. He wasn't available though, so we had someone else out there. We always have someone ready go though."
