Several sources are reporting that UW athletic director Scott Woodward is headed to Texas A&M to take the same position with the Aggies

Chip Brown from Horns Digest was the first to report that UW athletic director Scott Woodward has accepted the same position at Texas A&M and several other sources have also confirmed the news...

Woodward took over as the Washington athletic director in January of 2008 and during that time he has hired two football coaches -- Steve Sarkisian and Chris Petersen -- and also played an instrumental part in getting the renovation of Husky Stadium financed.

Former UW president Michael Young is currently the president at Texas A&M and Woodward, who served as the director of external affairs at LSU from 2000 to 2004 had wanted to return to the SEC.

The search for a replacement will get underway very soon and you can expect several in-house candidates to emerge and for the school to go through the process with external candidates as well.

Dawgman.com will have more on Woodward's departure in the near future, so stay tuned to this developing story.
