Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, Ca.) LB Camilo Eifler talks about his official visit to UW and his thoughts on becoming a Dawg

Bishop O'Dowd (Oakland, Ca.) LB Camilo Eifler has been up at Washington at least three times, but he said the feel he got on his official visit this weekend was much different...

"I already had a good feel for the city and the school and the program, but it's still a lot different when you are up for an official visit rather than an unofficial visit," Eifler told as he awaited his flight back to the Bay Area. "I had seen the school and the facilities, but what was really great was getting to see the city of Seattle.

"It's a great city and I loved getting to see all of the different things it had to offer."

Another highlight was getting to spend time with fellow commits Sean McGrew, Brandon Wellington and Kentrell Love.

"It was great hanging out with those guys, especially Sean and Brandon and Kentrell because they are going to be my future teammates," Eifler said. "We got a good feel for each other and we all sorta know we are the future of the team and we're excited about what we can do.

"We also spent a lot of time on Saturday with Jordan (Chin), who met up with us at the Space Needle (Saturday) night. It was a really good group of recruits that were there."

Freshman LB D.J. Beavers was Eifler's host and he said that he showed him a good time.

"Honestly, since I'm arleady committed there, they didn't need to try and convince me to commit," Eifler said with a chuckle. "We just hung out and got to know each other. He's a good guy. Actually, I was a little thrown off because I thought I was being hosted by Brandon (Beaver) and I was confused, but then I saw it was D.J. and I had never met him before, so it was cool getting to know him and see what he was all about."

As far as the last few 10 or so days before he and the rest of the 2016 class can sign their letters-of-intent, Eifler, ever the recruiter, has been working on some other players.

"I talk to a few guys that the coaches are still working on," Eifler said. "I think we have a good chance of getting some of them, but I don't really want to talk about that too much. We'll just see how things go as we get closer to Signing Day.

"I will say this though, our class is going to be great even if we don't get anyone else. We all want to be Dawgs and we're excited about the future.

"I can't wait to get started and I'm really looking forward to getting up there in June."

We'll have more from Eifler on Signing Day (February 3rd).
