Signing Day Interview - Levi Onwuzurike

Dawgman.com spoke early Wednesday morning with Levi Onwuzurike, a 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive end/BUCK prospect from Allen, Texas, shortly after he signed his letter of intent with the University of Washington. Here's what he had to say.

People respect your decision once you committed? - “People respected my decision. It wasn’t too hard. Coaches came at me a little harder, the closer colleges.”

Who came after you hardest? - “Probably Baylor and Michigan. Not necessarily hard, but we still have a spot for you if you change.”

Did your decision strengthen in your mind after you made it public? - “I felt solid about three days after. But I knew that’s where I wanted to go.”

What was the biggest factor in your decision? - “Just the area. The city of Seattle is nice, beautiful. There’s a lot of opportunities up there. The coaching staff is great. I do really think they’ve got something coming next year. I want to be coached by the best defense in the Pac-12.”

Anticipated position? - “Either BUCK or a normal defensive end. It just depends on how I grow throughout these next five months.”

What do you expect your height and weight to be? - “I’m going to try and stay 260 (pounds), 265. That’s what I am right now. I think I’m 6-4, 6-3.”

Relationship with Aaron Fuller? - “Yeah, we’re probably going to room together.”
