Hinds down to 5

Rocky Hinds is a 6-5, 220-pound QB/ATH from Playa Del Ray (Calif.) St. Bernard's, and Rocky has been hitting the weights hard this summer, adding some bulk to go with his considerable athleticism. He was recently timed at 4.38 in the 40 at his school, so it's no surprise he's got scholarship offers from every school in the Pac-10 already.

"I've definitely gotten bigger this summer," Rocky told TheInsiders.com. He weighed in earlier this spring at 207 pounds during the USC Nike camp, so not only has he bulked up, but he's actually gotten faster, if that's possible.

He took a couple of days off this summer to attend only one school camp - the University of Washington. Why the Huskies' camp? "Well, I have family in Seattle and I'm pretty familiar with the place," he said. "I go up there almost every summer, and this year I just wanted to see what it was like. I got all my questions answered and it was a great opportunity to get to know the coaches and the campus."

Hinds noted that the situation regarding former Husky head coach Rick Neuheisel wasn't a distraction at all when he was at camp. "When I was up there, coach Neuheisel was already fired, so it really didn't matter to me," Rocky said. "And I got to meet coach (Keith) Gilbertson and he's cool. I just like how the coaches are up there, they were all really welcoming. Even though I was in Seattle I felt like I was at home. Even some of my family came and visited me during camp."

All the schools that have offered Hinds a scholarship have done so as a quarterback. There's no question Rocky wants a shot to run the whole show in college. Washington, Washington State, Oregon, Oregon State, California, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Arizona and Arizona State are on Rocky's scholarship list, as well as Colorado, Nebraska, West Virginia, San Diego State, and Notre Dame. "I want to go to a place where it's the best for me," he said. "I want to look at the depth chart, take some official visits, see how the campuses are and also see how the coaches and players are too."

And official visits? "Well, I'd love to go to Washington to see a game and also Notre Dame too," Hinds said. "And I know I'll take some visits after the holidays." Right now, USC, UCLA, Notre Dame, Washington and California are Rocky's top-5 and he's not naming a leader from that list.

"I'm really looking into all five of these schools right now and all of them are even."
