VIDEO: Jaydon Mickens Pro Day Interview spoke with Jaydon Mickens after his Pro Day workout at the Dempsey Indoor Thursday. Was the 5-foot-11, 174-pound senior receiver prospect happy with his performance? And what's next for him as he works his way closer to the 2016 NFL Draft?

Talk about this moment - “Since I was a kid, watching the NFL Network and other guys compete at the highest levels is something I always wanted to do. Growing up at Dorsey High School, just seeing the camaraderie of the NFL and how it works and how fun it is and playing at the highest level - being a professional is something I’ve always worked for, even from high school, Pop Warner, here at the U-Dub, and now actually finally getting my shot and a great opportunity right here.”

How were the emotions? - “I had fun. I had a blast. I didn’t want nothing to come between the fun. That’s what football is all about; if you’re not having fun, then why are you doing it? So just being here, having fun…I went to sleep at 8 o’clock, I woke up at five, checked the time, went back to sleep, woke up at 6 and I stayed up and got ready for it. It was like Christmas Eve.”

How did it go? - “I think it went awesome. No balls hit the ground, all catches, no drops. Ran fast. From what I know I ran 4.4’s. 3.9 in the shuttle. So I couldn’t ask for a better day. And to be out here with Marvin Hall and Dwayne Washington, Josh Perkins, Tani Tupou - all these guys that I was here with and competed with on the highest levels, being out here with those guys to end it off at U-Dub is the best experience.”

With so many NFL teams, why should they pick you? - “That’s up to them to decide. I know what I do on the field, and I do it to the best of my abilities. If you told me to do something and my back’s against the wall, I’m going to get out of it. I put everything I have into it and I left it all out here today. I left it all out there in Husky Stadium. Hopefully it all pays off when Draft Day comes.” Top Stories
