VIDEO: John Ross on Spring Ball Day 15 spoke with junior receiver John Ross III after the UW Spring Event Saturday at Husky Stadium.

On how he feels now that spring ball is over: “I feel great. I thought I’d be pretty sore, but the coaches and trainers did a good job of monitoring how well I was performing and how much of a load I was carrying.”

On his progression: “As far as me becoming more of a receiver, like when I first came in I was a young guy and didn’t really know what I was doing, so I’ve gotten bigger and faster so I feel like my progress has increased a little bit.”

On what he had to improve on as a receiver: “Break points, route-running, focusing on catching the ball, understanding coverages and just me not being able to know all of that stuff, it kinda slowed me down as a freshman because I thought that I was a fast guy and maybe that would take me a long way, but I don’t want to be known as just a fast guy. I want to get better at every aspect of the game. I want to be able to be moved around all over the offense and even play some defense if they ask me to.”

On his injury and recovering from that: “Honestly I didn’t have any concerns because we have an amazing strength and conditioning staff and our trainers are also amazing and I feel like we have some of the best doctors in the world in my opinion and the way they took care of me, I feel great, so I didn’t really have any concerns. As far as recovery, I want to say I was upset for about five minutes when I found out my ACL was torn because I knew I was going to lose a year, but once I realized it would make me a better person and a better player I kinda just took it as a blessing in disguise and embraced it and it was amazing to know I was going to get better.” Top Stories
