Carlos Johnson Signs with UW

The class of 2016 for the University of Washington men’s basketball team just got even stronger as prep standout Carlos Johnson signed an NLI this week to join the Husky program, head coach Lorenzo Romar announced Thursday.

“We’re very thrilled to have Carlos Johnson at Washington,” said Romar. “He is a fierce competitor and is an extremely gifted athlete that can play multiple positions on the perimeter. He really has a passion for the game of basketball and is the type of player that’s going to raise the level of everyone in practices and in games. We’re fortunate to have him join our program.”

The 6-4, 220 lb., guard spent the 2015-16 season at powerhouse Findlay Prep in Las Vegas, where he averaged 15 points and 4.2 rebounds per game to go along with 1.8 assists and 1.7 steals, which ranked second-best on the team.

“I am very excited to be heading to Washington and can’t wait to get on the court with my brothers,” said Johnson. “Coach Romar has a great reputation for developing his players and I can’t wait to continue to grow as a player and person.”
