Chriss picked eighth in NBA draft

The Sacramento Kings took Washington freshman forward Marquese Chriss with the eighth pick Thursday night during the first round of the 2016 NBA draft, held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Marquese Chriss started all 34 games and averaged 13.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.6 blocks for the Huskies, earning honorable mention Pac-12 All-Freshmen selection. Chriss finished fourth in all-time points by a freshman at UW with 467 and fifth in rebounds with 183. He had 55 blocks, the most by any freshman in program history.

Chriss will heading home, as he played his high school basketball at Pleasant Grove High School in Sacramento.

There is a possibility this pick may be moved, as several sources have reported the Kings may be trading Chriss to Phoenix.
