"I just had a family situation where I couldn't make it up there (for his planned visit over Memorial Day weekend), but I'm working on getting up there to check out the school and to meet with the coaches," Jones told Dawgman.com. "I'm probably going to head up for their (Rising Stars) camp on the 15th (of July).
"I talk to coach (Bush) Hamdan pretty regularly and he wants to get me up there, so I need to figure that out, but I have to work it out with my parents, so I should know pretty soon."
While the Washington trip is definitely in the works, Jones has also been talking to another Pac 12 school and he's considering an official visit during the fall.
"Oregon has been talking to me a lot and the coaches there want me to visit," Jones said. "We've been talking about a possible official visit there, but I haven't set anything up. They haven't offered me yet, but they said if I visit, I'll have an offer from them.
"I haven't talked to the (Husky) coaches about taking the visit and that's something I want to do before I set anything up. I want to make sure they are okay with it."
"I'm not really reconsidering, but my parents are pushing me to take some visits and make sure I made the right decision," Jones said. "You know parents, they want you to make sure you keep your options open and don't rule anything out until you check it out. They just want the best for me and they are encouraging me to keep an open mind, but I know I want to be a Dawg so it's something we just need to discuss and see what the (Washington) coaches have to say."
As a junior last season, Jones finished second on his team in receptions (53) while leading the team in receiving yards (989) and touchdowns (14).
We'll have more on Jones in the near future as he gets closer to visiting Seattle in July.
