"It was exciting," Wilson said of his offer from the Huskies. "I worked out at the camp on Friday and then I met with coach (Hamdan) and coach (Chris) Petersen and they offered me.
"For a school like Washington, one of the best teams in the Pac 12, to be my first offer. It just blew me away. I was really excited."
In fact the Huskies are currently the only school recruiting the up-and-coming receiver.
"They had been watching me and recruiting me for over a year," Wilson said. "Coach (Brent) Pease was the coach recruiting me early on, but then once he left and coach Hamdan took over, things have been really focused on them working me out and meeting with me.
"I know Jordan (Chin) really well. We're pretty close friends, so I get a lot of good information on what it's like to be there and be part of that program.
"This was actually my first visit up to Seattle ever so it was really great to see what the city is like and where the school is compared to the city.
"The city sorta revolves around the school and the program there. Everything around it is purple and gold. People really support the program there and that's really great to see.
"The setting of the school is beautiful there. I really enjoyed seeing the campus and the facilities and meeting with the coaches.
"When I sat down with coach Hamdan, he talked about the offense they run and how I would fit into it. I can play outside or inside, but last year I played inside because Jordan was the outside guy. I can do whatever is necessary to help my team. I just love to compete and make plays."
As a sophomore last season, Wilson finished second in receptions (36), receiving yards (463) and touchdowns (four) to Chin.
"I'm excited for this season," Wilson said. "I think we're building into something big here and I am excited to be part of that."
We'll have more from Wilson in the coming weeks and months and we will update news on him as it happens.
