DawgmanTV: Blake Harris helps CP3 win it all!

Dawgman.com is down in Vegas for all the AAU tournaments this weekend, and Kim Grinolds spoke Friday with CP3 (NC) guard Blake Harris, who helped Chris Paul's squad to an 88-72 win over MoKan Elite in the Las Vegas Classic Championship game. Harris recently committed to Washington.

On his commitment to UW - “I like coach Romar a lot, he’s a great dude. All the coaches that contacted me, that was the first time a college had done that, so I knew they wanted me. Coach Romar has great skills to get guards to the league, so I like that. I like playing like Tony Wroten, so…”

So playing like Tony Wroten, what does that mean to you? - “He’s a flashy dude. Pass first, obviously. He’s a tall guard.”

Blake Harris scouting report - “They are going to see a pass-first point guard who is athletic, can hit some shots. Play defense, be vocal.”

Has UW been recruiting you a long time? - “Only about a month.”

What do you know about UW? What do you know about Lorenzo Romar? Have you been to Seattle? - “I haven’t been, but I know Noah Dickerson from Montverde. I talked to Carlos Johnson, Dejounte Murray and some other players.”

Relationship with Romar and Coach Chillious - “Coach Chillious recruited me first, but coach Romar recruited me, like I was saying. We talked like every day.”

Do you know Jaylen Nowell? - “Yeah, I talked to him earlier. Talked to Dejounte, talked to Michael (Porter) a lot, so I know all them.”

So you know the Porters (Michael and Jontay)? - “Yeah, Michael - we’re on the same Pangos team. I was like, ‘What’s up with Washington?’ and they came and watched me and got offered. I wanted to go there, he wanted to go there, so that was a good deal.”

When are you coming to Seattle? - “Sometime in September for a football game.”

How do your parents feel about you going that far for college? - “They’re good. I think they are going to come up with me. My Dad played in the NFL, so we’ve done a lot of traveling before. I don’t think that’s a problem.”

What’s your Dad’s name? - “Bernardo Harris. He played for the Packers for like seven years and the Ravens for two.”

Did you play football? - “I did. I had concussions. I was a wide receiver.”
