"I had been talking with coach (Chris) Strausser and he called recently and asked me to come up for a visit," Otton told Dawgman.com. "My family and I came up today and sat down with coach (Chris) Petersen and the other coaches for a little while and he offered me when I was there.

"It was a huge thing for me to get an offer from them. They are a great program and they said they felt like I could fit on either side of the ball, so they really aren't sure just yet where they see me fitting.

"They said they could see me playing the 'BUCK' as a stand-up outside linebacker/pass-rusher, but they also thought I could fit at middle linebacker or defensive end too. "

Of all the other schools recruiting Otton, the main ones he's been talking to are Nebraska and Oregon State and both of those schools appear to like him at tight end. So does where he winds up playing make a difference in which school he chooses?

"I'm open to playing wherever actually," Otton said. "Up until my freshman season, maybe 8th grade actually, I had only played defense, so I feel really comfortable on that side of the ball. I really don't care one way or the other honestly. I just want to help the team any way that I can and if that's on defense I will play it to the best of my abilities and do what I can to help my team."

Otton only attended two camps this summer (USC and UW) and he said his work at Washington's Rising Stars camp back in June was almost exclusively at defensive end.

"Coach (Ikaika) Malloe and coach (Pete) Kwiatkowski were the main ones working me out," Otton said. "I felt like I did pretty well and that was something that I think helped me get the offer because they could see me do some work right there in person.

Otton said while he wants to consider his options, he's hoping to make a decision before the start of his senior season.

"I'd like to just get it done before my season," Otton said. "I'm going to talk things over with my parents. I'm not sure exactly when I will decide, but right now, I'd like to commit to a school before the start of my season."

Otton and his teammates will kickoff their season vs. Franklin Pierce (Tacoma, Wa.) on September 2nd.

We'll have more from Otton as he nears his decision.
