What did you want to focus on the most in the offseason? - “For me it was just my quickness, gaining good weight with the strength staff and really working on my speed and my route-running were the areas I tried to improve on the most.”

Where are you now weight-wise compared to the end of last season? - “I’m definitely heavier, 10-15 pounds heavier. I feel good at that weight. I don’t want to get too heavy to where I can’t run and stuff so I feel good right now.”

Feeling pressure to contribute now that your time has come? - “In the tight end room we have a lot of expectations. As a whole we have a deep group and a lot of guys that can contribute, so I know all of us want to go out there every day and do what coach Paopao asks of us to contribute however we can, really.”

What’s it like going up against that defense every day? - “It’s a good challenge. They have some good players over there so that’s good for us knowing we’re getting good work every day. They definitely push us to be better. It’s a battle and we try and go out every day and compete. That’s what it’s all about, competing with those guys. We have a good defense so it’s a lot of fun sometimes.”
