How long is the mullet? - “It’s long. It’s more of just flowing right now. It’s not a mullet anymore. I just like my long hair. I’m not cutting it, probably ever. It’s kind of my thing now. If I cut my hair people probably wouldn’t recognize me.”

The maturation of the offensive line - “Obviously we’re gelling a lot better, really good friends and we’ve all gotten stronger in the offseason so that’s good. We kind of all know our spot and where we fit in so we’re just trying to work hard every day.”

How much does it help to go up against the top defense in the Pac-12? - “It helps a lot. It’s probably one of the better looks we’re going to get all year. It’s just fun to go up against those guys. They are all studs.”

Fun or frustrating? - “Both. When you block ‘em it’s fun, when you don’t, it’s frustrating.”

What have you seen from Jake Browning so far? - “Just more command, more leadership. He owns the offense right now. He’s the guy you go to if you have a question or problem. He’s a stud. He’s just really vocal. He knows his stuff really well. He’s a really good guy. He’s easy to talk to if you have a question and just fun to be around him because he’s such a leader and such a good player.”

On your friendship with Jake - “We’re good friends. Our lockers are next to each other. We’re always talking, we’re always scheming. I’m always asking what the plays are for today. It’s a good connection. I’m looking forward to this year and more years to come with Jake and with Myles and all those guys.”

How do you feel about the new helmets? - “New helmets are cool. They are a little tight right now, gotta break ‘em in. We watched a cool video on them, a bunch of force can go into them, so…”
