On the first day in pads brining up the intensity: “I don’t know. Guys like Azeem (Victor), Keishawn (Bierria), Budda (Baker) and me, we just want to go out and hit something. I don’t know why we don’t do it in shorts (and shoulder pads), but when we get the pads on it’s just like we’re getting ready for the season.”

On playing BUCK: “I love it. Coming off the edge like you saw today, I’m comfortable doing it and I’m just ready to let loose this year.”

On it being a fun position to play: “You can rush, you can drop into coverage. You can play pretty much every position from that position. It’s a fun position, but you have to be good with your technique and everything and you have a lot of responsibility on the field.”

On helping the young guys behind him: “I help them out. I’m trying to get them better. I’m trying to get Benning (Potoa’e) ready to go, but they keep pushing on me and I keep pushing on them.”

On Benning Potoa’e playing BUCK: “He’s fast though. There’s a lot of NFL guys that play BUCK linebacker – Terrell Suggs and Lamar Woodley – playing that position at 270 and 280. It just depends on how fast you are and how you do things.”
