On getting more playing time “It’s been pretty cool. It’s been a little bit that I’ve been here. I’m a redshirt junior now, but I’ve just been trying to work at knowing my plays and studying the game. I just really appreciating coach Kwiatkowski and coach Petersen giving me the opportunity to get out there.”

On getting significant minutes “Yeah, it’s pretty cool. Like I said, I just really appreciate the opportunity. I enjoy playing. It’s a lot of fun going out there and playing.”

On the pick six “I’m still kind of in shock as well. I just got, my cornerback Jordan Miller told me they’ve been running this slant all day and he let me know to try to drop back over there and I just dropped and was at the right place at the right time.”

On not getting chased down like Brandon Beaver did? “I just ran as hard as I could and I got lucky. I got lucky and I scored.”

On the defense reacting big to his touchdown “We’re a good team. A lot of good guys on the team and they were very supportive.”

Have you ever had a pick six before? “No. I can’t say that I have. Maybe here or there in high school, but not as this level.”

On Brandon Wellington returning kicks “It’s awesome. He’s a heck of an athlete. It’s really cool seeing that. Representing for the LBs.”

Will you lobby to return kicks after that touchdown? “You’ll have to take that one up with coach Petersen. I don’t think that is going to happen.”
