Post Game Video - Chico McClatcher

Here's what Husky sophomore running back Chico McClatcher had to say following Washington's big 41-3 win over Portland State...

How much more comfortable are you than last year? “I’m definitely more comfortable. Definitely took a lot of reps throughout practice and stuff and watched a lot of Jaydon Mickens’ film. That really helped me because he was so patient and fast. That’s what I’m trying to add to my game this year.”

Do you sense that defenses are paying too much attention to John Ross and opening stuff up for you? “Yeah, you know, as a defensive coordinator you definitely have to keep an eye on John Ross, because he’s very explosive. When the defense is out there we just have to execute, no matter what coverage they’re running or what gap schemes they’re doing. We have to execute as an offense.”

What did you learn from these three games? “That our offense is very explosive. We put up high points but we know PAC-12 teams are going to be way harder. We just have to keep on executing at a high level.”

Did you have anything to say to Budda Baker after his dropped pass? “I had nothing to say. We just wanted to try him on offense. Nothing really to say to him.”

On getting into the conference schedule “I’m definitely excited for the whole PAC-12 conference. Like I said, it all starts with practice and getting better every day. We’ll see where we go from there.”

Do you remember how different conference play was last year compared to out of conference? “Yeah I do. It definitely is high intensity. Every PAC-12 game definitely counts. We just want to win. That’s it really.” Top Stories
