Did you want to play offense like you did in high school at all when you started out playing defense here? “I was just thankful to be here and tried to work hard at the role I was given. Started out on defense and worked my way for two years and now I’m on the offensive side of the ball and things are still rolling.”

Was it a difficult transition going back to offense? “College football is tough no matter where you’re playing. I just ry to work hard every day. Coach Paopao has done a great job of teaching me the techniques, and along with Drew (Sample), Darrell (Daniels), and Dave (David Ajamu) for sticking with me and showing me the ropes.”

Was it hard to adjust to the offensive scheme? “They do a great job in the summer of trying to work you through the offense. There’s a lot more obviously, but you study up and learn it pretty quick.”

On scoring his first touchdown against Portland State ‘“It was definitely an awesome experience. I think we were able to celebrate with a good win and I think not one guy did it, but the whole team put it together and got a good win.”

Does it feel different getting ready for PAC-12 play? “Yeah, definitely. We’re focused on this week and Arizona is going to bring a good game plan, but I think we’re ready.”
